When Laura and Sophie return from an unhappy term at their new boarding school Laura is horrified to discover her Grandma has a new friend in the shape of the overly-charming Jeremy Hunter who, she suspects, is only interested in her Grandma's money. A magic curse transports the three of them back to the Weymouth of Seventeen Eighty-Nine, where, in order to return to their own time they must learn some lessons about trust as they find themselves caught up in the world of King George III and his three bored and overly-protected daughters - the Princesses Charlotte, Augusta and Elizabeth.
