According to the CDC, about one in every 33 babies is born with a birth defect. When our son contracted Group B Strep on his third day of life, we became a part of that tragic statistic. My child, Clay, was blind, had cerebral palsy, was fed via G-tube with a 24 hour feeding pump and took as many as 32 medications a day. Thought to only live for three years, our little angel lived for 15 1/2 years. My son became my strength and not my weakness! I was CHOSEN by God to love and care for this child. God chose ME! What a wonderful opportunity and the most important role of my life!
