Struggling after a midnight assault at the hands of a notorious biker gang, introvert Casey (Jesse Eisenberg) elects to join his local karate studio to learn self-defense. With the help of his dynamic instructor, Sensei (Alessandro Nivola), and new friend Anna (Imogen Poots), he begins to rebuild his sense of confidence and self-worth.
