Known for her large-scale, contemporary pieces, Swiss artist Evi Kliemand used a woodblock technique to create this work. The abstract image of biomorphic shapes is carved in reverse on a piece of wood, dipped in ink, then pressed into canvas for unique texture. Framed in New Zealand radiata pine, its moody palette enhances its elemental feel.
