The Great Pyre was dead, killed by the tyrant king. All who followed the Pyre were forced into hiding or put to death. As an infant, Milo only just escaped that fate. For seventeen years he and his family survived, hidden beyond the edge of civilization, safe and content. But the kings reach had grown. Soon nowhere would be safe. After receiving a cryptic vision from a dead prophet he is given a power he can neither control nor understand. A power he will desperately need as he sets out with his friend, Iris to find answers in a world more dangerous than he imagined. But some answers only lead to more questions.
