Alas, what a failure! While true progress moves on a line parallel with the divine purpose, it is also at the same time, aidevelopment of the primordial principle, which inheres in the constitution of the world in virtue of the advent of the divine into the human. Since God is in the world, which was made by Him, and since He by His almighty and everywhere present power, up hold and governs heaven and earth, with all creatures, it is about time for any theology, that is not to be laughed out of countenance, to recognize that fact, that God's way in the world is to hang things upon something.
