It is about a lawyer in London who investigates the increasingly bizarre occurrences of Dr. Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde. This story is most associated with the mental disease known as "split personality disorder," where the same person has more than one distinct personality. Hence the phrase, "Jekyll and Hyde"-having two different personalities.
