At some point in everyone's life, we have blamed others for where we find ourselves. We find it easier to point the finger because it keeps us from doing the hard work- the work of looking within ourselves, discovering and facing our truth. The Victim is my personal account of taking a courageous step of looking within and coming face to face with Shawana and acknowledging the part I played in where life has taken and landed me. I'll be the first to admit that looking in the mirror to take responsibility for the reflection that stares back at you is frightening, but it is necessary if we plan to move from a victim to a victor.
