The American Dream is very much alive today, and Mahmoud ElAwadi is living proof of that. Raised in Egypt, he came to America after college with a dream in his heart and just thirty-one dollars in his pocket. Through hard work, determination, and compassion for others he overcame every obstacle thrown at him. Through the dark days living in a trailer working more than 20 hours a day and still struggling to provide for his family to becoming one of the top financial advisers in his community with clients originally from 26 countries on 5 continents this is his story. He overcame abject poverty, racism, deep-seated prejudice and harassment over his religious beliefs, family tragedy, and even death threats to become a loved and respected pillar of his community. In the dark days following the Pulse Nightclub attack in Orlando he rose to national prominence as an outspoken proponent of love and unity for all Americans and vocally denounced all forms of hate. He has become a symbol for the unity of all humanity regardless of race, religion, gender, color, and sexual orientation.
