The book is inspired by the author's own experiences as an African American, yet he has incorporated several studies and biblical references in his writing to make it universal. He has picked apart American history, long withstanding racism in Hollywood and cooperate world and made his book all-encompassing when it comes to covering racial issues and social injustice against people of color. Apart from highlighting the bad and the worst, the author has also suggested solutions for churches, governments, and people in authority to reshape American society for the better.
